Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004)
"stop thinking into it so much, it’s a kids show!"
every single kids show was written by adults
i really never wanted to experience the overwhelming feeling of having posted something that gets a decently large amount of notes but i’m glad of all the things it could have been that this was this, because more people need to realize that shows directed at kids will almost always have meaning to them.
most people behind cartoons realize that these shows are going to aid in raising an entirely new generation. the ideologies they present in these cartoons are going to help create the foundation of their impressionable viewers’ beliefs and they know that if they include deeper meanings - realistic meanings - that there’s a good chance it’s going to help the kids that watch it grow and learn. these cartoonists get the opportunity to show children a peek of the real world, but in a relatively safe environment. they can’t have any deeper meanings be over the top and obvious, or else it might frighten the kids that are watching and anger their parents. themes like sexuality and abuse and disabilities and racism, you can find kids shows with all these themes because these shows are written by adults and these adults know that what they write is going to shape the future

However, the duo gets more than they bargained for when they discover the house they are staying in is said to be haunted by the ghost of a rumored witch who barely escaped Salem with her life. The house, located just outside of Salem, is surrounded by woods and a cemetery. It is said the lady fled into these woods during the trial and never appeared again.
